Prime Minister's Task Group  report released
The Prime Minister's Task Force on emissions trading released its report 1 June 2007

Emissions Reporting to commence 1 July 2008
The Council for the Australian Federation agreed at its 12 April 2007 meeting that national greenhouse emissions reporting would commence by 1 July 2008, either through purpose-built legislation or through the National Pollutant Inventory.

  • Department of Premier and Cabinet 
    The Department of Premierand Cabinet is co-ordinating Tasmania's feedback and comments on the
    possible design for a National Emissions Trading Scheme set out in the Discussion Paper.
  • Greenhouse
    As part of its commitment to the National Greenhouse Strategy the Tasmanian Government has developed the Tasmanian Greenhouse Statement (1999) which outlines the highest emitting sectors and the Government’s commitments in relation to reducing emissions. The Tasmanian Greenhouse Statement is to be reviewed and updated in the near future to capture the most recent relevant data available and the initiatives and priorities of the present Government.
